An English Twisted {Twilight} Breaking Dawn Wedding Shoot (part 2)
I’m super duper pleased you decided to come back for another sneaky peak! As mentioned in part 1, some of the images posted here in part 2 are entirely exclusive to WTW!
Last night I was a lucky lady indeed ~ I had in my possession a ticket to one of the hottest shows in town!! Yes, the Breaking Dawn premiere and after show party!! The Breaking Dawn premiere officially had the longest red (and white) carpet I’ve ever walked down. It was jam packed with hoards of screaming Twi~hard fans all desperately clamouring for a glimpse of their favourite Twilight idol. The carpet was sprinkled with celebrities (namely the X Factor contestants) and of course the stars of the movie. Kristen looked particularly beautiful in her Cavalli gown!
I settled in my seat and waited patiently for Breaking Dawn to begin… happily munching away on my complementary bag of popcorn it seemed like an absolute age before the film was under way and then finally, finally, it began. Starting with the build up to Bella’s big day, it wasn’t long before the actual wedding scene… and hand on my heart the setting for Bella and Edwards wedding nuptials is something fantasies are made of! Set within a vivid green forest and dripping with beautiful swathes of white flowers, the set looked magical!
Finally, a nervous looking Bella walked down the aisle to meet Edward and I was completely captivated. Captivated by the stunning, and I do mean stunning Carolina Herrera wedding gown. The front of the wedding dress is Bella to a T. Simple elegance, a satin, high fronted neckline with asymmetrical seams that flowed into a flattering, almost fluted design. The back however is a complete contrast to the front and just left me in awe, a semi backless vision crafted from beautiful lace and held together with the daintiest of little buttons. The dress is incredibly romantic, striking and actually kinda sexy (in the right kind of way you know). Believe me, this style of wedding dress is going to be on every future bride-to-be’s lust list!
As for the rest of the film I’ve decided not to run a spoiler… if you are a Twilight fan it’s definitely worth a trip to the cinema. This film definitely has a more grown up, sophisticated and edgier vibe than previous Twilight films.
Now onto the party… held in a tall, rather posh office building on the 11th and 12th floors with amazing 360° views over Westfield and the Olympics, the champagne flowed all night. Waiters served delicious little canapés and bites, in the middle of the room stood a chefs station serving up little bowls of cous cous with tenderloin beef, rolled chicken in crispy palma ham and various other morsels…
I partied the night away quaffing the free champagne eventually rolling home at 1.30am, this is reasonably late for me and especially on a school night! Needless to say, I awoke this morning with the hangover from hell and when I opened my handbag I discovered a rather random and empty champagne flute… hmmm… please don’t tell anyone…
So now to the important bit!! Part 2 of my English Twisted {Twilight} Breaking Dawn Styled Wedding Shoot…
At the bottom of this post you’ll also find The Inspiration Behind The Shoot and a step by step guide on How To Re-Create… Bella’s Bridal Hair.

The inspiration behind the shoot…
Hello lovely ladies ~ so why did I decide to create a {Twilight} Breaking Dawn styled shoot? Well, for me the story of Edward and Bella is a modern day love story of our time, a tale of two worlds colliding… a modern day girl meets, falls in love with and then marries a rather dreamy vampire who is locked forever in his 17 year old, turn of the century body! What perfect wedding inspiration for any future bride to be!
I took my inspiration from the twilight novels visualizing how Edward and Bella’s dream nuptials could translate into reality. Edward was turned into a vampire in 1918 so I wanted to reflect the Art Nouveau period, you can see this in the style of the wedding stationery and wedding cake created for the shoot.
For the flowers I envisaged lots of romantic white flowers and green foliage. I thought it would be a stunning contrast to complement the blue from Bella’s hair-piece and so incorporated the blue thistles into the flower arrangements, I believe this added to the overall beauty of these incredible wedding flowers.
In turn I was inspired to select a pretty, vintage duck egg blue as the dominant colour in the colour palette. I chose to mix in a spectrum of colours from the dark red of Bella’s lipstick and the redness of the apple, to the navy blue of Edwards’s suit. An array of subtle accent colours were also used which can be seen in the styling of the sweetheart table.
To complete the look I chose a dramatic Georgian Mansion as a backdrop for this Breaking Dawn styled shoot to add an old fashioned English twist. The result ~ I think you’ll agree is an incredibly romantic, intense and vintage inspired {Twilight} Breaking Dawn styled wedding shoot.
How To Re-Create… Bella’s Bridal Hair
Step 1
Ensure hair is clean and dry, use a mousse to add hold.
Step 2
Curl all the hair with a barrel tong forming rolls all over the head, secure with clips and allow to cool. To protect the hair and add texture I used L’oreal Professional Tecni Art Hot Constructor on each section.
Step 3
Spray with a flexible hold hair spray such as Elnett.
Step 4
Once cool, take the pins out and let the hair fall into waves.
Step 5
Part hair in the middle and take 2 sections on either side.
Step 6
Take the first section and plait as a French plait except you are only adding to one side instead of both (Do not take hair from the underside as this will make it a basic French plait and you will be able to see the scalp underneath)
Step 7
Once you are half way round the head, stop adding and plait to the end of the hair as normal and secure with a small ‘no tear’ band.
Step 8
Do the same with the other side then wrap the 2 lengths of plaits in opposite directions around the head entwining as you go. Secure with pins underneath the rest of the hair to hide any ends.
Step 9
For a softer ‘mussed up’ curl ~ Do as above then start twisting sections of hair, hold the end tight with one hand and use the other to pinch small sections of hair and push it up the hair creating a gorgeous backcombed wavy effect. A great way to achieve that ‘Messy do’ that we love so much.
Step 10
Finish by scrunching in Tigi Bed Head’s Dumb Blonde Smoothing Stuff for shine.
And voila ~ there you go a Bella’s beautiful bridal hair!
The beautiful Bella hairstyle and step by step guide was created and shared by the lovely and Jo Irving ~ Creative Director, Lovehair. No worries if you’re not overly confident with re-creating the style. Jo and her amazing team of stylists are available for wedding hair and make-up, why not give them a call?
