Well, start practising these make-up tips for the perfect vintage look and all your pin up dreams shall come true :)

1. Go matte – skin should be flawless; we love No. 7 Beautifully Matte foundation. Don’t skip out on powder either, this will seal the deal by keeping your foundation on for longer and will prevent shine, try Besame Cashmere powder compact. Both of these brands
do extra light shades too.

2. Don’t tan, natural is beautiful darling! Let your natural colour shine through, streak lines and orange tones do not say Hepburn or Monroe.

3. Define your brows, preferably with a powder which is easier to blend. Carefully match the colour to your brows (not your hair) and sweep upwards from the centre to about three quarters along the brow, then back down toward the ear for an arched pin up look. Don’t go too far out of your natural shape (post plucking!) though.

4. Keep your eye shadow neutral and focus on pale contouring around the eye socket with a taupe/light brown to really make your eyes pop.

5. Practice that eyeliner! Even professionals need to practice the perfect cat eye slick.
Gel liner is perfect for practising, it means you can choose a brush which suits you (we recommend short and firm bristles for extra control). Try different shapes and don’t be afraid to draw the flick upward toward your eyebrow, it will really lift your face.

6. Don’t clash your blush, choose peachy tones to compliment those red lips

7. Use lip liner religiously – it will prevent bleeding and make your colour last longer.
Paint the entire lip in too!

8. Use a brush to apply lippy, this will help you create a perfect cupids bow and neat lines.

9. Choose the right red, for blondes go with blue tones such as Besame’s ‘Besame Red’, brunettes can take a little more cherry tones such as Besame’s ‘Red Hot Red’, darker skin tones can take them all!

10. Blot, blot and blot again. Apply lipstick, blot and repeat…three times. This will compact the colour for extra long lasting. You can also finish with a light dusting of translucent face powder to seal the product.
