French Shabby Chic: Vintage Glam | Wedding Inspiration

Hello my loves, finally, fiiiiiinally I can share the ‘French Shabby Chic: Vintage Glam | Wedding Inspiration’ collaboration I styled with the super lovely Hair & MUA Gemma Sutton and fantastic wedding photographer David Wickham I really, really hope you like?!!

‘When Gemma Sutton asked me if I wanted to style a shoot being held in a Chateau in the south of France, I literally jumped at the chance. Gemma had teamed up with the talented vintage wedding photographer David Wickham of Modern Vintage Weddings. Their mission was to showcase the gorgeous headpieces of bridal accessories designer Donna Crain’

‘I was pretty much given a free reign to style the shoot however I pleased. In my mind I pictured a gorgeous chateau with shabby chic detailing. So I looked at Donna’s website and saw that her stunning vintage inspired headpieces had a real glamorous Hollywood vibe and so my ideas started to form…’

‘A shabby chic styled bridal shoot using vintage suitcases, French vintage books, dried lavender, dried rose buds and rose petals with French styled shabby chic wedding stationery and vintage glass bottles. I wanted to inject some old-school 30s glamour into this rustic look, I created this by draping pearls and glitzy, sparkly jewelry into the elegant 30s champagne glasses and Donna’s beautiful headpieces over the vintage books. All this was complemented with the colorful and beautiful rustic lavender and petals’

‘I decided that this look would be complemented with understated yet glamorous wedding dresses; our model Kathryn looked sensational in Sabina Motasem’s gorgeous 30s inspired creations!! Gemma gave the model an ultra sophisticated look with pin curls and a silver sheen and Donna’s glamorous headpieces. I absolutely adore the romantic yet sultry style of Kathryn’s hair and the purple tones in her make-up’

‘On arrival at Chateau Les Carrasses in Languedoc Roussillon we were absolutely blown away! I must admit, I didn’t quite know what to expect as pictures don’t often give a place justice. Les Carrasses was incredibly sophisticated and chic and brimming with a treasure trove of beautiful nik-naks which the lovely people there let us raid’

  1. This shoot is simply stunning! It has made me smile this morning and whisked me off to some wistful, beautiful place full of gorgeous sumptuous wedding treasures. Well done Sonia… Fab styling, v glamorous dresses, beautiful model and stunning hair pieces. Oh and I love the lavender! Xxxx

  2. Absolutely beautiful. Lavender was the perfect choice. I love the way the slinky dresses hug the model’s curves (and that she actually has curves!) and those accessories are so glam. Congrats to you and the rest of the team on a fabulous shoot x

  3. Ah this is just so stunning, I love the second dress!! Very elegant. The hand tied lavender just looks beautiful. Fantastic shoot :) x
