2013 Wedding Trend: Vintage Furniture

Morning my lovelies, what a ‘pee in my pants’ exciting couple of days I’m having!! First of all, I was invited to a fabulous little event that I attended yesterday and then today… well, TODAY… I found out that I’ve been listed on the top 100 wedding blogs IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD EVER EVER EVER. Sorry if I’m shouting, but this really is a big, big deal for me :) Thank you so much to each and every one of you for your continued love and support. I absolutely adore being a wedding blogger, so to gain industry recognition… just blows me away!

Today I want to talk about a massive American trend that’s slowly making its way over to these here British shores… 2013 Wedding Trend: Vintage Furniture. Yes, the use of mix and match vintage furniture is such a cute and quirky way to inject life, personality and uniqueness into your big day. Whether using pretty furniture props to style your venue or hiring a few pieces solely for your creative shoot. Old fashioned vintage wedding furniture is the wedding future!!

And don’t worry, it’s not all about using these pieces in the great outdoors! Industrial chic is a growing trend, brides and grooms are hiring evermore unique wedding spaces to hold their nuptials, from galleries to warehouses, wherever your imagination takes you. So it brings me a great amount of pleasure to introduce to you Oliver from The Poppy Trading Company. Oliver himself is getting married soon and knows how hard it can be to find those beautiful, unique, vintage furniture hires…

We are “The Poppy Trading Company”, renting beautiful pieces of unique, vintage furniture to brides, event planners and photographers looking to make their day stand out. We have a growing range of gorgeous furniture, from antique sofas to mismatched wooden chairs, to genuine vintage typewriters that we’d just love to share with you on your big day.2013 Wedding Trend: Vintage Furniture

We can style a whole venue for a stunning vintage theme, or perhaps just a corner for photographs, maybe even just somewhere to relax in a plush Victorian armchair with a nice cup of tea (from vintage china cups of course!)

I’m getting married myself in April, so I know how important the big day is, and how much time and effort goes into the planning. Finding that special something to make your day personal and memorable can be really tricky, but we reckon our wonderfully quirky rustic mismatched chairs do just the trick!

Add to that some country-kitchen style wooden tables, some wonderfully decedent armchairs and a vintage steamer trunk or two and hey presto, a stunning addition to the big day that no-one will forget!

Our mismatched chairs start from £3.25 / chair, with larger pieces of one-off furniture ranging from £10 – £100. We’ll also deliver nationwide, so wherever you’re getting married, we’ll be there!
