Engagement Shoot

Peacock Blue & Green: Engagement | Love Shoot

Evening honey’s… I absolutely love the photography of Sharon Cooper and I’m super proud to share one of her beautiful engagement shoots that took place in a vibrant green garden setting. I also love getting to know more about couples and their wedding plans and how much they mean to each other… {I’m such a big softie} and what really puts the cherry on the cake of this little love shoot is {for me}… the gorgeous pops of Peacock Blue & Green, oh, and an actual real peacock!

We chose Shuttleworth House’s beautiful Swiss gardens, which I knew was a lovely setting, and when I suggested it Charli she said they had looked at holding their wedding there. Charli and James looked beautiful together, I loved how there were three punches of blue between then, Charli’s nails, her fantastic bright blue eye liner and also in James’ scarf.

We got chatting and in putting them at ease in front of the camera, I pointed out how well they went together. Charli said it was her favourite colour.  We all got terribly excited when, whilst exploring the beautiful grounds, a peacock came out of the undergrowth towards us. He seemed a bit shy, but I was happy to take his photograph too, it seemed meant to be, his colour being the perfect shade match!

What struck me during the shoot was how happy and relaxed the couple became. Both admitting to start with they were a bit apprehensive, but completely loved the experience they had and moreover the finished photos.

The darkness of a cave like grotto with pretty light coming through the stain glass, lifted Charlis beautiful hair and made for some excellent emotive portraits of them both. I cannot wait to be part of their big day in April and I know it will be fun, full of smiles and love.

We met through James’ sister, Zoe. Nothing special there! I had met him a few times then actually had a dream about him, which made me ask for his number and get in touch with him at Zoe’s Ann Summers party!Peacock Blue & Green: Engagement | Love Shoot

The proposal was on our 6 month anniversary, I’d had a tattoo of his initials that day, we went out for a lovely meal then came home and he asked whilst we were sat on the sofa talking! We are getting married 20th April, at Ware Priory and hoping for beautiful weather, we chose Ware because of the setting and the building.

It’s quite a big wedding with 110 daytime guests and up to 290 evening guests. James has a rather large family!

Charli: I knew it was love when I realised I couldn’t be away from him for more than a night and spent a week’s holiday calling him and writing to him and feeling totally lost without him.

James: When you can only describe the person that you are with as perfect that’s when you know its love!

We knew we wanted to have Sharon as our photographer as soon as we met her at our friend’s wedding. She was fantastic; her eye for the right moment and catching people at their best is so unique.
When we met her we did nothing but smile and felt so comfortable we didn’t even question it, there was no doubt Sharon would be our wedding photographer.

Beautiful images, lovely couple and such a stunning setting! Thanks so much for sharing Sharon, and Charli and James, keep us up-to-date with the wedding plans!

  1. Lovely, especially enchanting are the black and white shots, the dappled light image under the tree is reminiscent of a still from a Truffaut movie
