There are just so many crazy stupid pretty details in this styled shoot I am blown away! The first ever underwater wedding shoot of its kind was captured by the wonderfully talented and creative underwater photographer Ilse Moore.
The detail involved in the shoot is magical and stunning, from the romantic and whimsical designs of the wedding stationery, cakes and flowers to the gorgeous styling of the dream like nymph model brides…

As an underwater photographer, I have come to realize that the idea and planning surrounding such a shoot will essentially only act as the starting block for a concept.
The water, the light and the movements will eventually decide the outcome of the shoot. It evolves and grows on its own and I have to say that my greatest pleasure is going along for the ride.
With “Letters to my Love”, we were initially hoping for a classic and elegant 1910’s inspired look. The underwater imagery was to lend a touch of whimsical fancy to the shoot and while the set took on a life of its own, we just loved how everything came together perfectly.
As expected, fantasy and magic simply took over and it guided my editing to a more dreamlike and painterly feel. “Letters to my Love” was born as one of the first ever fully styled underwater wedding shoots and the concept evolved to a romantic reflection of an idealistic, but distant love.
From drowning the beautifully set table, which was adjourned with fairytale creatures and vibrant flower arrangements (and also secured to the pool floor with rope and heavy weights), to playing with the beautifully designed letters and stationery underwater was so much fun.
The dresses and cake displayed beautifully underwater and the models were amazing in taking on the role of “dreaming water nymphs”.
Working with an energetic and equally excited team made every bit of difference in creating this ethereal and beautiful shoot and I would like to thank everyone for their incredibly hard work in making this a success!
How wonderfully amazing and creative is this underwater wedding shoot?!
I am just so inspired by all the gorgeousness here. The stunning makeup. The dresses. The stationery and well EVERYTHING. Most of all though, I’m loving the other-worldliness captured by brilliant underwater photographer Ilse Moore – thank you so much for sharing with the Want That Wedding blog.

Wow! I absolutely love this shoot – so pretty. Have you seen Klimt’s Water Serpents paintings? Reminds me a little of those. X x
Oh Klimt is one of my favourite artists, in fact i have a copy of his water serpents as pride of place in my front room :)) XxX
