Blush Pink & Pale Grey Shabby Chic Real Wedding: Pete & Carley

Blush Pink & Pale Grey Shabby Chic Real Wedding: Pete & Carley

Happy Friday gorgeous! I have a lovely real wedding to share with you today. It has a relaxed vibe with subtle accents of blush, pink and pale grey.

Pete & Carley organised a shabby chic style wedding set in a country inn, and made their day all about friends and family. Sweet.

Our whole day couldn’t have been accomplished without my mum helping me through every step of the way – from hand-made invitations right the way through to the order of service cards – she is truly amazing and an inspiration to me!

Pete and I love walking with our dog Dudley and stopping at country pubs for lunches. Therefore we chose and fell in love with our venue on the very first visit.

The inn is simple and tasteful, with its own little vintage quirks. Exactly the place we love to go to – the bonus being we could hold our wedding there! Everything else just fell in around this and created the relaxed, laid back feel we were aiming for.

My wedding dress was designed by Charlotte Balbier. I chose this dress as it was unique and different to anything I had ever seen. I loved it’s simplicity and the netting at the bottom.

We made all of the flowers and  bouquets ourselves from dry silk flowers – we were worried that the weather would be warm and the flowers would die.

Pete and I met at college and have been together around 11 years. A few of our friends also met around the same time and we’ve all grown up together.

It made the day truly magical.

Throughout the 18 months and in the run up to our wedding we purchased wedding decor from various places including charity shops, vintage shops and high street shops such as Asda Home and Matalan.

I wanted each of the tables to be different yet quirky in their own way. Hopefully I did that! From tea cups to vintage clocks, old books (Les Miserables – one of Pete’s favourites) to bird houses and cages.

People always leave wedding cake therefore we went with a less traditional wedding cake choice, a tower of cheese! Both of our families love different cheeses so it was an easy choice.

Being quite conscious people, finding a photographer we were both going to feel comfortable with was probably the hardest decision we had to make in the whole wedding planning process.

Steve was recommended to us by one of our close friends. I cannot describe how Steve made our day so much more special. From his relaxed approach, to listening to exactly what we wanted.

His bespoke nature and artistic photographs truly reflect the best day of our lives and we cannot thank him enough. We’re so overwhelmed by the guests comments on our photographs and also how relaxed Steve made them feel.

Our first dance was to Ed Sheeran ‘Thinking out Loud’. We bought the CD and decided that this track would be an amazing first dance. We completely love the artist and fell in love with this track as soon as we heard it.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

Every minute of the day was truly magical however if I could pick one moment it would be Pete’s speech. Every time I think about it it makes me fill up and realise how lucky I am and how magical it made my day, even though he cried throughout the whole 10 minutes.

If you could impart any words of wisdom to a bride planning her wedding day, what would they be?

Remember what is important – it’s important yourself and your hubby-to-be enjoy the day and have your loved ones around you! Don’t get caught up in life’s dramas on the way up to the wedding. Embrace every moment.

Awww. What a fab day! Thanks so much to Mr Sleeve and huge massive congrats to the ever-so-lovely Carley & Pete. Sweet couple. Gorgeous day!!
