You gotta love a bride who walks down the aisle to a bit of pumping house – and that’s exactly what today’s gorgeous bride Claire did when meeting her groom at the alter.

Claire & Jonny organised a romantic Ibizian wedding with a colour scheme of blush pink, powder blues, greys and a dash of modern gold.

Honestly, we didn’t put too much thought on style or themes; we were just true to ourselves and styles that we both like, ultimately shabby chic with a sparkle! We love Ibiza, the venues are so stunning that we didn’t need to kill them by over decorating.

We both went to Ibiza a few years ago for my birthday with a group of friends. Back then, we were just friends but during the week, we started to feel differently about each other – the magic of Ibiza made us fall in love!

I went on a recce with my maid of honour and made appointments with lots of venues on the island over 3 days – and visited lots of beautiful churches! It was a tough job but someone had to do it! ;)

I had tried on lots of the traditional style dresses in other boutiques and really didn’t feel like ‘me’. Then, following the recce with my Maid of honour, we knew I needed something a bit different – and suitable for the HOT weather!

A friend had recommended Secret Dress House and as soon as I met Kelly & perused her beautiful and more ‘fashionable’ collections, I knew this was the boutique for me!

I knew I didn’t want a strapless dress (partly due to it being a church wedding) but other than that, I was open to options – but it had to be cool! When Kelly picked ‘my’ dress I wasn’t sure at first but as soon as I tried it on, I knew!

I finally felt like me – and as it was made of pure silk, it was so breathable and perfect for the Spanish heat! I loved special feel, the detail, the train…and the lace back!

Without a doubt my wedding shoes had to be Jimmy Choo! They were the first pair I tried on and I fell in love. They were classic white, peep toe with sparkles and a comfortable heel size.

For the evening – dancing and shots on the beach – I changed into bespoke Swarovski Crystal Havianas flip flops.

Jonny bought me diamond earrings and a yellow diamond necklace (to match my engagement ring) for my wedding present, which I opened on the morning.

I really wanted to treat my bridesmaids to some lovely gifts so bought all of their jewellery;

Rose Gold Pave Necklace from Ingenious, Swarovski Rose Gold Necklace for my Maid of Honour, Rose Gold & Swarovski Crystal earrings, Rose Gold (‘swarovski stardust style’) bracelet by Jon Richmond at Debenhams.

I also bought them silk ‘getting ready’ robes personalized with their initials, a small bottle of Chanel perfume, and a Victoria’s Secret lip gloss.

As I’m Catholic, we opted for a Catholic church service., which worked out well as being a Catholic country, a catholic church service is legally binding for overseas couples so we didn’t need to pre-register our marriage in the UK.

I asked for the longest veil they had – I wanted a statement veil for the church!

Jonny and I love our House Music – I walked down the aisle to the piano version of Penguin by Avicii. My brother walked me down th eaisle.

Our florist, Florist Dreams came highly recommended to us via a contact we made in Ibiza. Gary and Holly were a pleasure to deal with.

I knew I wanted a simple blush rose bouquet and gypsophila for the bridesmaids & buttonholes – I love the simplicity and how the colours worked together.

Jonny knew he wanted Blue/Grey colour – and something quite relaxed. Burton had a great range and he opted for skinny fit trousers & a waistcoat, with braces for the evening. Blush bow ties were custom made from Kraft2Kotton1Korner on Etsy.

We met our wedding photographer Ily when she did our engagement shoot in Arizona and we fell in love with her!

We were quite nervous about doing a photo shoot and felt a bit uncomfortable at first but within minutes, Ily had us relaxed, enjoying it – and the photos were incredible!!!

The convertible ‘Annabelle’ in blush by Jenny Woo for BHLDN. I came across these first on Pinterst and was obsessed – I then visited the BHLDN boutique in Beverley Hills (love that place) and tried them on with my (bridesmaid) sister-in-law. I loved the fact that they could be styled in so many different ways to best suit the girl.

Trousers also from Burton, with white Skinny fit shirt & pink socks from Charles Tyrwhitt. We didn’t want jackets due to the heat so opted for braces. Blush bow ties were also from Kraft2Kotton1Korner.

Our 4-year-old ring bearer’s outfit was from Next – we were thrilled that this matched Jonny’s. And his bowtie was also from Etsy.

We kept it really simple as the venue was so beautiful and had the most beautiful backdrop of Es Vedra – the magical island of love.

We used blush pink mason jars filled with the bridal parties bouquets (great money saver) and made gold table numbers – to match the gold place settings.

We scattered some blush petals on the tables and some gold votive candles. We also decorated the venue with candles – and had a lit up ‘LOVE’ sign.

We had baskets of flip flops for guests, a guest book table, and photos of passed loved ones–all ‘labeled’ with relevant chalk boards.

Our wedding favours were white Rayban style sunglasses from INeedPromotionals on Etsy – We sent them our logo and he was able to print this on the arms. I think they went down well with the guests.

We decided against a cake – we felt it the only reason we would get one would be for tradition, and that wasn’t really us. The wedding breakfast wasn’t until the evening and who wants cake after a big meal at 9pm in Ibizan heat?!…

Our first dance track was ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ by Swedish House Mafia. We actually started with the acoustic version, which then mixed it into only if you are happy to do so… the house version half way through – as all of our guests say this is the song that reminds them of us – one we’d had our romantic moment, we wanted everyone up dancing and having fun.

If you could impart any words of wisdom to a Bride to Be planning her marriage and wedding day, what would they be?

Get a wedding website – its so useful for staying organized and keeping everyone up to date.

Get a good photographer (do your research and don’t go for the cheapest). It’s so important that you have a photographer you can trust –Ily knew us, exactly what we wanted, and this made things run so much easier on the day.

Get WedPics – and amazing app where all of your guests can upload their photos and you then have somewhere to look at all your wedding snaps from different perspectives.

Enjoy it – and don’t worry about what anyone else thinks. It’s easy to overthink every decision you make; worrying about trying to please everyone – this is impossible, so just do what pleases you and it will all fall into place.

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Although sites like Pinterest are a great tool to get ideas, remember that a lot of the pics are set up for photo shoots. Really, don’t stress too much about the details – just stay true to yourself (and your partner) and just enjoy yourself, your guests will too.

And whatever stress you endeavour during the build up – let it go on the day – you deserve to have the best time.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

Too many fantastic moments. I want to do it all again – every part was amazing. I can’t express how special it is to be abroad with all of your love ones, celebrating your marriage!
