A Vintage / Boho Wildflower Country Farm Wedding: Reece & Cat

Today’s lovely wedding features lots of country farm detailing with rustic decor and a vintage/ boho vibe.

Reece & Cat married at Battle Abbey and then had a down to earth and family orientated day on the family farm.

Such a sweet day and Cat looks amazing in her vintage inspired Ozlem Suer wedding dress and boho headpiece!

My wedding dress wasnt the typical white dress. I liked the vintage feel – slightly boho but also still looking like a wedding dress. The colour caught my eye as soon as I walked into the shop. I had tried on lots of fitted mermaid style dresses that looked beautiful on but for a farm wedding this was more comfortable – I even had them cut the underskirt to knee length to make it cooler and easier to walk in for a farm wedding

We chose Battle Abbey and Lower Marley Farm (my parents home ) for our wedding venue and reception. The abbey was close to the farm, beautiful and not a church.

We just wanted to give everybody in our lives the best party and celebration we could. Using the farm helped keep costs down and meant we could invite everybody we wanted – no number restrictions. I love the vintage look and a country farm wedding lends itself to that.

My bracelet was the ‘old new borrowed blue’ – a repurposed necklace my grandfather gave to my mother when she was a child and my shoes were a bargain from debenhams.

I also wore a gorgeous boho headpiece I found on ebay!

We borrowed my fathers friends old landrover – I wanted that farm feeling and I didn’t want to go traditional.

My father walked me down the aisle to ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’ reggae style.

We chose Denise as our wedding photographer because of her effortlessly relaxed style – her webpage really showcased her affinity with nature and her ability to capture real smiles rather than posed ones. I loved that she was comfortable trudging through our fields and was open to my suggestions throughout. We’ve ended up with some incredibly beautiful shots of all our family and friends. Denise’s fun but passionate personality shines through them all.

Wild flowers and hay bales from the surrounding farms were usee in the styling of our farm wedding. We also used an old dresser I painted and some horseshoes my mother picked up from a friend.

We also had little wooden hearts with our married name and wedding date on them as a token gesture for our wedding favours.

Our wedding cake was made by a friend of my mothers that lives in the village – we wanted a naked cake because I don’t like icing, I wanted it to be quite imposing but simple.

My brother bought a hog roasting company after he had seen my catering quote – he felt he could better it and he really did. It was an amazing job and his catering company is now going from strength to strength.

If you could impart any words of wisdom to a future brides planning their wedding day, what would they be?

Ask the dress shop to have the final fit done at least two weeks before your date – avoid the stress of it not being quite right.

What was your most memorable moment of the day / evening?

Taking time out of the wedding between venues – we took our twin girls for a drive for 30 mins and just spent time together – it felt like we had sneaked off but it was lovely to be just us for a bit on our big day.

Such a lovely country farm wedding! Congrats Reece & Cat!!
