A Bridal Banquet In Minimal Gold and Grey

Today’s incredible wedding shoot has a luxury couture vibe and features a high fashion bridal look with an alternative skirt and shirt combo. It is to die for!

Set in a minimalist-chic barn setting with opulent golds and greys, you will adore all the textures and detailing of this beautiful collaboration.

Words and images by Gemma – The Wardette Studio.

The expansive, classic space of The Alswick Barn, lent itself perfectly to the minimal aesthetic of the shoot. I wanted to create something super chic, restrained and contemporary. Being stripped back, didn’t mean we had to compromise on glamour though.

With an abundance of gold details, glinting in the light across the banqueting table, Wedhead’s styling effortlessly lifts the colour palette into something more opulent. I chose Sharon Bowden-Dryden’s separates to dress the bride.

There is something so laid back and alternative about wearing separates for your wedding. And a shirt and a skirt?! I was in love… Here are some words from each of the talented suppliers who contributed to the shoot.

Anastasia @Wedhead (Styling)

We wanted to reflect the minimalism of winter in the cool shades and simple textures but contrast them with shiny metallics and the intentional fullness of the bridal look.

Taking place in an airy barn with white bricks and natural wooden beams the styling was in tune with nature and this rustic influence continued with the table and benches.

These built on the natural vibe but gold hairpin legs gave a modern and minimal feel. Antique brass candleholders and grey chiffon runner further added texture and dimension.

Flowers played on the contrast of soft cotton and foraged foliage while the gold leaves tied the theme together with the exterior of the shoot. White chiffon drape projected a focal point for the shoot with the use of a foliage wreath and softened the look for a gentler, more bridal feel.

More from Gemma…

As always, when I design these shoots, I’m most interested in the anti-bride ideal. I want to break down some of the expectations you get from styled shoots and go for something completely different. Huge thanks to everyone involved, who helped this to be such a successful and creative collaboration!
