Italian Romance! A Destination Wedding in Sicily: Taia and Francesco

In keeping with Sicily, Taia and Francesco decided on a very simple and authentic wedding theme that was green and white in colour. Atmospheric lanterns, candles and traditional olive leaves (which are a symbol of Sicily) were included on the tables and throughout all the wedding decorations, this added to the romance of this Italian destination wedding.

Words by Taia. Fabrizio and Romina Photography & Films.

Sicily was our dream wedding destination, an inspiring country of incredible beauty, great contrasts and lovely people.

My wedding dress by Pronovias was chosen as I love its simplicity and the Pronovias style was perfect for me.

Everything was within walking distance for our wedding and I walked down the aisle to Pachelbel Canon in D.

Walking through the busy Sicilian streets with our entourage of guests in tow was fantastic, our family had also arranged as a surprise for a Traditional Sicilian folk band to follow us playing all the famous Sicilian songs on the accordion and tambourine.

We danced in the street with crowds of passer-by’s stopping to take photos and videos of us.

Our wedding photographer was Romina Costantino by Fabrizio and Romina Photography & Films.

Our most memorable moment was during the speeches when all our best friends and relatives spoke lovely and emotional words for us and our future together.

If we could offer any advice on planning your destination wedding, we would say… Planning a destination wedding is an exciting experience and also the perfect opportunity to get to know different cultures and traditions. But, a professional is necessary on-site to coordinate the day and avoid any stress on the best day of your life.
