Beautiful Creme, Beige & Blush Wedding in Tuscany: Katherine & Howard

Given the beautiful scenery of Val D’ Orcia, Katherine and Howard did not want to take away from the stunning surroundings by choosing bright colours for their wedding day. Katherine’s favourite colours are natural creme and beige so they opted for a classic warm touch of blush for an additional pop of pretty colour.

The general floral design for the reception consisted of olive leaves, candlelights and creme, peach and blush flowers  Wedding favours were sweet ‘perfectly blended’ wedding herb favours that looked absolutely adorable and fit in with the Tuscan theme.

Growing up, I listened to Andrea Bocelli, and it was always a dream to get married in Tuscany. I knew that when I came across La Bandita Countryhouse that I wanted to celebrate a life milestone there. I told myself, either I’ll have my 30th birthday there or my wedding there…whichever came first!

It was hard to choose one wedding dress, so I chose to bring three with me. My personal choice had been the Collette gown – I wanted something simple and classic. However, I’m so glad that I chose to wear my reception dress, as that appeared to be the crowd favourite.

That was the dress my family chose and ensured that I bought. For Chinese weddings, a red qi-pao is usually what is seen. However, with the Tuscan landscape, I went with something golden and floral for my qi-pao. Later in the year, I wore a traditional red qi-pao for our reception in Guangzhou, China.

We had our wedding party walk down the aisle to Nick Laird-Clowes. This was the theme song from About Time and was one of the first movies we watched.

I couldn’t have been luckier than to have Facibeni Fotografia capture my big day. I have so many beautiful photos to reminisce on.

One of the most memorable moments was the evening when we got to walk around and toast everyone who came to our wedding. A Chinese tradition that was done while wearing my qi-pao.

My mom also wore a Chinese qi-pao and during this time, I honored her with my bridal bouquet to thank her for being an amazing mother!
