I love pastel colours and florals and all things country cottage in style. This was a big inspiration for how I styled the day and also why we chose the venue we did. I also love fabrics and was keen to incorporate lots into the wedding! We also love the countryside and the Cotswolds is the perfect English countryside for the perfect wedding.

As a textile designer it was so important for me to contribute to my own wedding by making as much as I could. The bouquets, buttonholes, bunting, favours, place names and the alter at the end of the aisle were all made by me.

It was a little stressful and I very nearly ran out of time, but I wouldn’t have changed it for the world as all the personal touches gave our wedding a really personal feel.

For the flowers on the tables and at the alter I went to Tescos the day before and spent £45 on flowers and then arranged them into baked bean cans, jam jars and teapots. These were a fantastic bargain and I was so impressed with how they looked. They tied in perfectly with the wedding.

I made the girls wedding favours.  Little fabric heart tokens with the words Love & Kisses printed on. Andy made some sloe gin for the boys in mini bottles.

My auntie made our wedding cake. I gave her a photograph of a stacked Victoria Sponge cake with strawberries and roses around the edges and she produced an exact replica! It was just incredible and she did such an amazing job. It was delicious and the entire cake was eaten right down to the last crumb!

It can be very stressful planning a wedding, especially if you are a diy queen and making a lot of the wedding yourself like me.  Give yourself plenty of time so you aren’t rushed. It will be totally worth it as you will see all your hard work on the day and be so proud of yourself.

Make sure you give yourself the time to look back on your day and reflect with your new husband. We went to bed on the night of our wedding and sat talking about the day re-living  it all again together and our favourite parts of the day with a cup of tea!  It was brilliant and really recommended!  Last tip…..definitely buy waterproof mascara! You will need it!

She captured such special moments that we now have as forever memories. It has been so hard trying to choose the images for the album….they are all so beautiful we want to include them all!  We cannot recommend Emma enough.

She fitted in with our wedding so well, she became one of the guests and if you choose Emma as your photographer I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.
