Vibrant and bold with modern gold accents, this colourful wedding inspiration will have you dreaming of sunshine filled celebrations!
Words by Lisa Hancox.
A florist was the natural choice to approach as the first team member on board and I know that Keeli and Jade at White Lilac love using colour within each wedding they create. Be it soft, subtle and pretty or bold, bright and beautiful, their skill for mixing colour palettes and placing colours together really is outstanding!
The team all loved the floral crown, bouquets and table decorations that they created. “We love anything to do with colour and mixing brights with softer tones – we are total romantics and love filling an event space with flowers and props from our studio! We work in the heart of Hampshire and are lucky to be surrounded by the most spectacular venues and beautiful surroundings.
“When Lisa asked us to take part in the shoot we were thrilled at the thought of using such bright colours; we have such an array of lovely containers in the studio and decided on using our beautiful glass metallic blue vases.
With the purple hydrangea, peach avalanche, pinks avalanche, coral charm peonies, lady bombastic spray roses, trailing green Amaranthus and Viburnham opulus, the colour choices looked so bright and vibrant.
We finished the inside looks off by surrounding the silver candelabra and vases with gold and silver mottled tealights giving the whole feel an extravagant yet fun and summary look“.
Charlotte Munro styled the day wonderfully, picking out accessories and angles which would capture our theme.
“When Lisa brought me on board I immediately loved the colour scheme and brights concept of the shoot. We discussed different options and styles at length and decided to go for a contemporary, on trend look for both bride and bridesmaid.
For Freya, our lovely bride, we wanted headpieces to be a focal point. With less brides opting for a traditional veil we wanted to show the different options available, from floral crowns to bohemian glamour, both styles are very different but both create statement looks in a sophisticated way.
Gold statement jewellery was the feature for bridesmaid model Rebecca, with statement earrings and the halter neck gown, and a bold glam necklace for the strapless option. Throughout the shoot floral’ and gold were a big feature, and I wanted to incorporate this into the table setting too with a gorgeous vintage Wedgewood dinner service and cutlery.”
The dresses worn by our beautiful models Freya and Rebecca came from Amaryllis Bridalwear, with owner Charlotte bringing some classic bridal dresses and super-bright, floaty bridesmaid dresses.
Charlotte said: We first chose a classical bridal gown from Sincerity Bridal. The circular satin ball gown features a Sabrina illusion neckline with satin trim and drop waistline.
With an asymmetrical pleated bodice with a beaded motif at the waist and finished with a v-back, satin buttons over the back zip that continues to the end of the chapel length train. The second gown that we used was by Justin Alexander.
The circular cut skirt has a gorgeous satin organza Sabrina neckline and a pleated cummerbund. A beaded motif at the natural waist adorns the gown. The back of the dress has an elegant v-back with organza buttons and a chapel length train.
The bridesmaid dresses by The Dessy Group complimented the style of the bridal gown perfectly, with the bright colours enhancing the surroundings and vision of the day.”
Beautiful new luxury wedding venue, Froyle Park in the village of Upper Froyle was the perfect venue. Steeped in history and character, Froyle Park is a stunning country estate set against the rolling hills of the Surrey and Hampshire border, only a short journey from London.
New this year, the unique and awe inspiring wedding venue exudes grandeur and elegance, both inside and out, and is the perfect venue for weddings of all sizes. The newly renovated Jacobean Manor, Grand Ballroom and extensive grounds offers the most romantic setting.
Carrie Devonshire’s contemporary photography style was ideal for capturing the relaxed summer vibe we wanted to portray, and the finished shots are perfect: uncluttered, light and sophisticated.
“When I received the brief for the Summer Brights shoot I was so excited to be part of it! The idea of the shoot was to capture a late spring/early summer vibe and as the photographer it was my job to make sure that everyone’s hard work was portrayed in the images and I captured the colours perfectly.
I felt my style of photography fitted the brief well as I love working with bright, bold colours and had some great ideas to input as well as a selection of editing techniques to use post-shoot. The day was great fun and it was a real honour working with the all-female team.”
Amanda White created hairstyles for the shoot that complimented the setting and bold colours that everyone contributed.
“I kept the bride’s look quite relaxed, with lots of volume and curls but with a bohemian twist. I wanted the curls to be somewhat unkempt but without looking frizzy. We had this amazing piece of Indian head jewellery which I really wanted to show off. I thought a middle parting was best and with Freya’s shiny dark hair it really bought the piece to life.
With Lisa’s pop of bold lip colour I think the look really adored the fresh summer feel. The bridesmaid’s look was little more formal and classic but I wanted to keep it looking modern and with the flash of blonde highlight through the front of the model’s hair, I thought would look great against the bold flower used.
I wanted to have a bit of volume at the back to keep the style looking romantic and elegant. To keep it smooth and sleek I used serum through the ends of her hair – I think this style embodied Froyle Park’s lavishness – elegant and stylish.”
Creating the beauty looks for this shoot was an important consideration because I hoped that again brides would take inspiration from a simple, approachable and sophisticated look…
I designed the make-up for both models with pops of bright pink on the lips to pick out the various shades of pink flowers and dresses, applied statement liner to frame lush lashes and created subtly bronzed skin with sheer coverage. Nails were also bright pink for a splash of fun!
How bright and pretty! Loving the super bright lipstick and bridesmaid dress! And that floral crown… super gorge!!
Thanks to all involved in this stunning styled shoot and for sharing with the Want That Wedding blog.
