A Low Key and Intimate NYC Wedding In Central Park: Anita & Grant
Ever dreamt of just upping sticks and planning an intimate wedding in one of your favourite iconic cities of the world? Well that’s exactly what Melbourne couple Anita & Grant did!
They had a low key and intimate wedding in Central Park, New York City with a handful of friends and family.

Grant and I appreciate the outdoors, we both love NYC and Central Park is such an iconic location. We wanted a simple and low key wedding with close friends.
My dress was from Le Chateau Blanc Couture – I’ve always wanted something simple. I’ve never been a fan of princess style or big dresses. The lace on my dress was so intricate and delicate that it made me look elegant.
Grant and I are both from Melbourne Australia and met through work. We got engaged in 2014 while holidaying in Singapore.
We decided to get married in NYC because it’s a beautiful city and Grant was running the NYC marathon.
My bouquet and Grant’s lapel were a combination of peonies and traditional roses in cream, pink and peach. I’ve always loved peonies as they are soft feminine flowers.
After the ceremony I wore a white shawl: This was my mother’s shawl. She wore this when she got married.
My wedding photographer was Farnaz K Studio. Farnaz was so helpful and skillful; this was evident in the wedding photos.
She took the most amazing shots of us around NYC and given we were married away from home, our family and friends were able to share the experience because of her.
If you could impart any words of wisdom to future brides planning their wedding day, what would they be?
Make sure you do your research and connect with suppliers before committing. Follow your instincts.
What was your most memorable moment of the day?
The wedding vowels. Leading up to the day, it felt surreal and it hadn’t actually sunk in we were getting married. As we exchanged vowels, we were both overcome with emotion and it was a beautiful moment to share with our close friends.
Great images! Thanks to Farnaz K Studio for sharing with us and congrats to Anita & Grant.
