Barefoot Bride in Skiathos Destination Wedding with Natural Theme: Lucie & Simon
Lucie and Simon (pronounced Simeon) wanted a natural, informal, intimate wedding with close family and friends with a natural theme.
Katrina chose a slim fitting bridal gown with a pair of crochet barefoot bridal sandals (love, love, love) and gorgeous, fluffy pink peonies for her destination wedding on the Greek island of Skiathos.

We were so lucky and grateful that so many were able to join us. We wanted guaranteed sunshine so chose a venue abroad.
We married at Atrium Hotel in Skiathos, one of the Greek islands. We chose this hotel as it was a small boutique hotel with beautiful views over the bay.
In Skiathos, the Registrar organises everything so she booked the florist… There aren’t many florists in Skiathos but my flowers were absolutely perfect and I loved them (have to say I was worried because you just send a photo of what you’d like and don’t see the flowers until they arrive on the day). I requested Peonies and they were just perfect!
My Dad walked me down the aisle to Beethoven’s Five Secrets by the Piano Guys. The Song was 5 minutes long so it was really good that I had a very long aisle.
One of my favourite moments was walking down with my Dad. I could see Simon with tears in his eyes.
Katrina our wedding photographer was absolutely wonderful as can be seen by the photographs. Katrina is ultra friendly and made us and our guests feel at ease. She’s great at giving direction and tailored the photographs to what we wanted.
Everything was perfect, from the communication, quick turnaround and near 1,000 shots of pure gold that will treasure forever. Katrina is truly talented and captured everything on our special day and we will treasure these photos forever. Thank you!!
As I wanted a more natural wedding I chose not to wear any shoes and wore white crochet lace bridal barefoot sandals from Etsy.
Fairy lights in bottles from Amazon and leaf lights from Etsy were used as wedding decor. We also had photo’s from Photobox and photo clips from Amazon. On the tables, we had fairy lights from Etsy.
We provided salted nuts and biltong (Simon is South African so thought this was a nice touch) as wedding favours.
If we could advise other couples planning a destination wedding we would say…
Don’t sweat the small stuff and relax. Be in the moment and enjoy every minute, it goes so, so quickly.
I’m so inspired by destination weddings, and Greece is one of the most beautiful places to wed. Mama Mia anyone?
