Beautiful Wedding Inspiration ‘Victorian Dream’
The inspiration behind ‘Victorian Dream’
Inspired by the charm and romance of the 1900s, a team of leading wedding designers and creatives came together to create the inspiration wedding style shoot known as ‘Victorian Dream’. The concept was inspired by the timeless classic, ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’, which has had a significant influence on the fashion world. Leading designers such as Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs have all taken inspiration from the innocent and dreamy style of this movie and time period.
The photoshoot was captured at the 1900s heritage-listed Rippon Lea Estate, where the remake of ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’ was filmed. Scenes of the bride and groom were captured in the mansion’s drawing room and conservatory, and their reception was held outdoors. The final scenes capture the couple proceeding to have a private picnic by the estate’s lake, followed by a romantic stroll around the gardens.
This shoot celebrates the feminine and vintage bridal style with elements of frills, bishop sleeves and high neck designs. The beautiful bride embraces the innocent beauty look on her special day, with the use of peach and blush tones, and her hair is styled with a big velvet black bow. Complementing the bride, the dashing groom is dressed in preppy and fashionable custom-tailored jackets, bow ties and chinos.
The bride wears a breathtaking vintage style engagement ring and wedding ring, paired with drop pearl earrings, while her husband wears a black leather watch and preppy style designer wedding band.
The couple’s reception includes a beautiful spread of British and Victorian items, including traditional scones, jam and cream, biscuits, desserts and of course, tea.
Capturing a moment alone, the groom takes his bride aside for a surprise picnic which he had set up earlier by the lake. As this beautiful and memorable day comes to an end, the couple rides off into the sunset in their private carriage as newlyweds.
Throughout the shoot, you will find styling elements that fits within the Victorian theme, including details such as antique books, black ribbon straw hats, old letters and quill, vintage brush and mirror, lace parasol, and a traditional picnic basket.
Be inspired to draw out the dreamy romance in this modern world by embracing the ‘Victorian Dream’ theme on your special day.
