Christmas Gift Ideas for Newlywed Couples

Do you know someone that has just got married? Whether it’s a sibling, your best friend or your favourite work colleague, you may be wondering what to buy them for Christmas.

So, here’s a few gift ideas for the happy couple:

An experience

After the stress of planning and the whirlwind of the big day, give the newlyweds the gift of an experience for Christmas. It’ll give the couple something to look forward to, enable them to spend some quality time together and offer the chance to relax and unwind. It could be a fancy dinner – so they can get dressed up and not have to think about cooking for one night or it might be a spa day so they can take the weight off their feet and pamper themselves with a massage or a facial. Either way, it’s a gift they will both be very grateful for.

A subscription

Subscriptions are the gifts that keep on giving and they are perfect for newlyweds. This could be a bunch of flowers, that keeps their home full of blooms for months after the wedding. Alternatively, you might choose an alcohol or food subscription, so as their lives get busy again they can plan in some time each month to sit and enjoy some food or shake up a few cocktails together. There are so many to choose from that you are sure to find one that is perfect for the couple.

Custom illustration

You could print off a photo from their wedding day and frame it but they will probably do this themselves. Something they probably wouldn’t think of, that will be a little more unique and special, is a custom illustration of their favourite wedding day photo. Check out Etsy where you’ll find plenty of artists offering this. It’ll be the perfect memory of their big day.

Personalised products

A personalised gift will be a real keepsake for newlyweds. This could be anything from a personalised chopping board with their new name on to a print that commemorates their first dance song. It could also be a more festive gift such as a bauble that reads ‘First Christmas as Mr and Mrs [surname]’ or a jumper that says ‘My first Christmas as Mrs [surname].

Date night hamper

You could, of course, put the present together yourself and what better than a hamper that encourages them to have a date night. Fill it with a bottle of bubbly, their favourite snacks, candles, flowers – whatever you think they will need. You could also create some date night cards with questions that encourage them to reminisce about the wedding day, such as ‘what was your favourite part of the day.’

Check the wish list…

Buying for newlyweds can be tricky because they have likely just received a lot of gifts on the wedding day. But, this is also useful because many couples create a wish list – are you able to find out what they didn’t get from this? This could be the perfect present because you know it is something that they both really want or need and will not have.

So, which gift are you going to choose for the newlyweds this Christmas?
